As the VP of Marketing here at A-MAX, I prefer to let my team be in the spotlight. So you can imagine my hesitancy when my team approached me about having a segment in our Women’s History Month campaign highlighting my journey. My team challenged me to not stay in my comfort zone. As I reluctantly agreed, I immediately started thinking about what I would say and how I wanted to be portrayed in my segment. It dawned on me that I was so worried about how I would be perceived speaking about my journey and accomplishments, but in many cases, my struggle is the same many women face in their lives: we dim our light to make those around us feel comfortable. I deserve to be proud, about my accomplishments, about my story, because it took a great deal of hard work, dedication, and perseverance to accomplish the career that I have.

I would also like to take the time to recognize the commitment A-MAX has made to ensure, at every level of the organization, diversity. 84% of the employees here at A-MAX are women and that is something you just don’t typically see in many workplaces. I am proud to be a part of an organization that back their words of inclusion and diversity with real action.
